UML Modeling Language

The UML modeling language (Unified Modeling Language) describes processes and components using diagrams and schemes. At the same time, UML is not a real programming language, but it is possible to generate code based on its models.

This modeling language has found wide application in work cycles during software development and system design.

There are the following main types of diagrams in the UML language:

  • Structure diagrams (Structure Diagrams), which include class diagrams, component diagrams, composite diagrams/composite structure, cooperation (UML2.0), deployment, objects, packages, profiles (UML2.2).
  • Behavior Diagrams (Behavior Diagrams), which include activity, state, use case, or use case diagrams.
  • Interaction Diagrams (Interaction Diagrams), including communication diagrams (UML2.0), interaction overview diagrams (UML2.0), sequence diagrams, synchronization diagrams (UML2.0).
