Stages of Working with Virtual Hosting
Let's assume you already have a domain purchased from a registrar. Let's assume this registrar is also the hosting provider. Let's look at the principles of working with the hosting.
First, you need to register
on the hosting. During registration, the hosting
usually asks you to specify your domain.
If you already have a domain and this domain
was purchased from the same hosting provider, then the domain
will automatically be parked on your hosting.
If you don't have a domain, you will be offered
to register one. At this stage, remember
that a domain is delegated
1-2 days.
If you have just registered it,
it won't work immediately.
After registration, you will receive access to your personal account on the hosting. There you must pay for the hosting for the term you need. Typically, the payment term can be as follows: for a month, for six months, for a year.
After payment, you will get access to the hosting control panel. In this panel, you will manage the placement of the site on the hosting.
That is, you will have two places: the hosting personal account itself and the control panel.
After payment, the hosting will provide you with FTP access credentials for the site. These credentials allow you to connect to the site via a special program and upload your code files there.
FTP access credentials are usually sent in an email, which the hosting sends you after registration. If they are not there, then you will have to create them in the hosting control panel.
After you obtain the FTP access credentials, you will be able to connect to the site and upload your files. After uploading, the site will start working and it will be possible to access it via the internet.
If you make edits to the site's code on your computer, you can upload the corrected files to the hosting, and your changes will be applied on the site.
This is the main process of working with a site on hosting. We will study the nuances of this process in the following lessons. Also, in the following lessons, we will try everything in practice.
