The sub tag
The sub tag displays text in subscript, that is, just below the line of regular text and in a smaller font. This is sometimes necessary for writing mathematical or chemical formulas, and so on.
Example
Let's write the formula for water using a subscript:
Formula of water: H<sub>2</sub>O.
