Connecting via SFTP in FileZilla

Sometimes a hosting provider gives you SFTP access instead of FTP access. The SFTP protocol works similarly to FTP, but it creates a more secure encrypted connection so that an attacker cannot intercept your data.

To connect via SFTP, you need to select the SFTP protocol in the Site Manager tab when creating a new site:
