Hosting for CMS

CMS, which stands for Content Management System, is a special program, usually written in PHP, for creating websites. Mostly, CMSs are free, but there are also paid options.

With a CMS, you can manage a website without possessing layout and programming skills, at least in theory. However, some skills will still be needed to create a website.

There are CMSs for various purposes: general-purpose ones, such as Wordpress, Joomla, as well as those for specific tasks. For example, Opencart and Prestashop for creating online stores. Or phpBB and MyBB for forums.

We will study working with CMS and hosting them in more detail in other tutorials. In this lesson, we will simply discuss what opportunities are available on hosting services.

In general, installing a CMS is not particularly difficult, especially if you know how to work with PHP and databases. Nevertheless, hosting services often have separate tariffs that provide hosting with a pre-installed CMS. In principle, it's a good thing that allows you to save a little time on installation.
