Types of Domain Zones

Domain zones can be divided into several types. Let's figure out what these types are.

National Zones

Each country has its own domain zone. For example, .ru for Russia, .uk for the United Kingdom, .us for the USA.

Domain zones also exist for countries that have already ceased to exist. For example, the .su zone for the Soviet Union.

Regional Zones

There are domain zones for some regions. For example, .eu for the European Union, .asia for Asia, .moscow for Moscow.

International Zones

Initially, general, international zones were introduced for websites of a specific theme. For example, .com for commercial organizations, .info for informational websites, .net for network services.

Currently, the categorization is not observed, and any websites are placed in these zones.

Thematic Zones

Not long ago, a whole multitude of domains for various themes appeared. For example, .art, .shop, .club.
