Thông thường, việc thiết lập lại không chỉ lề (margin) và khoảng đệm (padding) mà còn cả các giá trị mặc định khác sẽ rất tiện lợi. Đã có sẵn các file reset (thiết lập lại) loại bỏ tất cả các giá trị thừa. Một trong những bộ reset phổ biến là bộ reset kiểu dáng của Eric Meyer:
