Ada Quill
Ada Quill kept a press in a rented room above a stationer’s. She wrote the city as a set of rooms that would not stay numbered. Her first novel sold to a printer who bound it in leftover wallpaper. Later editions dropped the wallpaper and kept the rooms. She never listed a second address.
