A city wakes under a second moon made of copper and starts paying rent to the sky. A clerk is sent to collect the first invoice. The moon answers in invoices of its own: missing afternoons, extra stairs, a river that bills by the metre. She climbs a clock tower and finds the copper is thin enough to fold.
