North pump station has been dry since Monday
Taps on River Row hiss. The utility truck came Tuesday, left a paper note on the pump house door, and did not fill the tank. School on Bank Street closed the sinks at noon and sent children home with a printed slip. I boiled what I had left in the kettle and carried two canisters from a cousin on Hill Lane.
The notice said “pressure work, six hours”. It has been four days. The night crew at the mill still has no wash water. I want the tank filled and a public time on the board, not another slip on the door.
