A week without a phone
I left it in a drawer in the kitchen. The first two days I reached for my pocket at every red light. On Wednesday I bought a paper map and got lost on purpose. The walks got longer. I still checked email on the laptop at night — this was not a monastery — but the street felt quieter.
I put the phone back on Sunday. I turned off the lock-screen badges. That was the part that stuck.
